Diane Rockwell Wetmore (Member, Elmira-Corning Chapter)

Diana has been a member of IAAP since September 1994. She has been active in her chapter and on the division level during her membership. Starting as Program Chair in 1995, she served as Newsletter Chair in 1996 and 1997 and received the chapter’s Secretary of the Year designation. Diana has served as Audit Committee Chair, Committee on Nominations Chair, has served on the Scholarship Committee and was Secretary, President-Elect, Vice President, and four terms as President. On the division level, she sat on the Newsletter Committee and was Chairman the following year. As Seminar Chair for the Northeast District Conference in 2000 in Corning she was able to bring an internationally known speaker and two dynamic local speakers to the consciousness of 180 attendees.

As church secretary for the Penn Yan United Methodist Church, her duties are varied and range from producing the weekly bulletins and monthly newsletters, finding transportation for parishioners, to co-chairing their annual bazaar. She also serves as a mentor to at-risk middle school girls in a knitting program through Yates County ProAction. She has been employed there part-time since January 2007. Previously Diana was the administrative assistant to Vincent R. Valicenti, President and CEO of Valicenti Advisory Services, Inc. in Elmira where she was employed for 14 years. Her background includes financial projections, vault holdings, and new accounts. Previous employment provided experience in billing, accounts receivable, ordering wholesale plumbing parts, retail, and office equipment dealer sales.

Diana was widowed in 2005 and married her second husband Steve at the International convention in Reno in 2006, with 26 New York State Division members attending. She has four children, three stepdaughters, and seven step grandchildren ages 2 to 14. Her interests include reading, knitting, sewing, cross-stitch, crocheting, baking, mystery and comedy TV, and spending time with her husband and 14-year-old daughter.

Angela A. Grabowski, CAP-OM (Division Member-At-Large)

Angela has been a member of IAAP since May 1983 and is currently a New York State Division Member-at-Large.  She earned her CPS rating in 1986 and her CAP rating in 2001; she recertified both ratings in 2006. For the New York State Division, Angela served as President, Vice President, Corresponding Secretary, and Treasurer, earning her symbol of retirement as a Division officer, a silver rocking chair charm, in 2002.  She came out of retirement to serve as Secretary for the 2010-2011 year.  Through the years, she has served as a member or chairman of many division committees, including Annual Meeting, Bylaws and Standing Rules, Chapter Development, Nominations, and Public and World Affairs. 


Angela originally joined IAAP as a member of the Capital District Chapter, where she served as Treasurer and President.  In addition, she served as a member or chairman of many of the chapter’s committees, including Audit, Bylaws and Standing Rules, Education and Program, Nominations, Publicity, Social, and Ways and Means.  She was recognized as the chapter Secretary of the Year in 1992.


Angela is employed as the Confidential Assistant to the Director of the SPAN (Statewide Peer Assistance for Nurses) Program of the New York State Nurses Association (NYSNA).  She has been with SPAN since June, 2009.  For nearly 20 years, she has worked in the healthcare field, holding administrative assistant positions to senior-level administrators at several hospitals.  Before working in healthcare, she was employed by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Schenectady County and Coopers & Lybrand.

Joann Liddy-Pierce, CAP (Member, Elmira-Corning Chapter)

Joann has been an active chapter member since joining IAAP in 1996. In 1999, as a member of the Glider Chapter, Joann worked on the merger committee with the Corning Chapter. As a member of the Elmira Corning Chapter she has served in various positions including president, vice president, secretary and numerous committees. Her chapter honored her with the Woman of Achievement Award in 2005. She earned her Office Professionals Certification in 2000 and her Advanced Office Professionals Certification in 2001. In 2001 she earned her CPS rating and recertified in 2005.

 

Joann has worked at Elcor Health Services as an Administrative Assistant for 22 years. She went to Elcor when her former boss was the administrator and created a position for her so they could continue to work together.  

 

She is an active member in her church and has served as a representative for the Divorced and Separated Catholics for the Southern Tier region. 

 

In her spare time Joann likes to travel and enjoys entertaining at her little place on the lake. She has three children who have blessed her with six grandchildren and three great granddaughters, Hailey, Hayden and Haven.
